10 Blogs you should check out this summer!

Ad| Hi gang, welcome to my summer roundup of lifestyle blogs you should be reading. Hope you’ve all been enjoying the sunshine!! This year is absolutely flying by and I’m excited to share yet another group of incredible creators with you!

I’ve been opening up my blog throughout 2021 to give fellow bloggers the opportunity to advertise on Pigletish. It’s been a genuinely lovely way for me to discover new content and to be able to share it with my readers too! Forever grateful that these amazing bloggers have chosen to advertise with me.

November will be the last time I offer advertising slots for bloggers (at least for now). Some slots are booked up in advance too so, if you want one, please get in touch!

Here are my featured summer bloggers, please show them some love and support:

Jodie Paterson

Meet our first blogger, Jodie Paterson! Jodie is an Edinburgh based blogger writing about mental health, travel and audio projects. I left the blog feeling genuinely refreshed and positive. I especially enjoyed reading 8 Reasons It’s OK if you’re not ready to do something, which was incredibly reassuring and supportive. I also loved the tips that Jodie shares in How To Make a Good First Impression (I definitely feel like I make bad first impressions so I felt I needed this one!)

The Peculiar Adventurer

A warm welcome to super exciting blog The Peculiar Adventurer. This travel blog with a twist focuses on the weird and wonderful aspects of globetrotting as blogger Jenna explores. I absolutely loved this blog, it really peaked my intrigue and I’ll be going back for sure. Catch such gems as Five Weird US Roadside Attractions and Is Milwaukee Grant Park Haunted? (which creeped me out so much!). This is now one of my absolute favourite blogs!

Izzy Matias

Izzy has been blogging for 10+ years writes about blogging, creativity, business and her other interests on her blog. One of the aims of her website is to help bloggers make an income from their work. If you’re new to Izzy’s blog, get to know her by reading 3 Fun Facts About My Blog. She also shared this informative post about bookkeeping, something all self employed people should know about.

Andrea Hunt

I had a life coaching session with Andrea Hunt and she is, without doubt, one of the most incredible people I have ever met. She was so intuitive and compassionate that it absolutely blew my mind, so I jumped at the chance to feature her incredible blog on my own! As you might imagine, her blog is all about personal growth and living deliberately. It features amazing content like 3 ways to carry out your life’s purpose and this informative piece about EFT tapping and how it works.

Miah’s MH Moments

Back again on Pigletish.com is the absolutely wonderful Miah’s MH Moments, one of the most positive and thoughtful mental health blogs I’ve ever come across! Her blog is packed with personal mental health moments like My poems from the mind as well as practical tips on coping, self care and life as a student nurse. A beautiful blog that’s well worth checking out!

Lyla Stone

A well put together blog, Lyla Stone covers beauty, wellbeing, psychology, blogging and lifestyle. The posts are concise and informative and you can see right away how long each post will take you to read, which I love. The psychology section of the blog centres around narcissistic personalities, making it an interesting read that could be difficult for some abuse survivors. I loved reading self sabotaging behaviours often overlooked (I used to really struggle with procrastination so I was really interesting to read it) and 5 Tips for How to Cope with Chronic Illness.

Stridi

A new for 2021 blog that I’m honoured to share with you is Stridi! Stridi is a mental health non-profit, who aim to provide free help and advice to anyone who needs it during Lockdown. So far there are a few blogs available to read on their site, including this amazing article that explains why there is no such thing as failure (I loved it!) and this easy-to-read piece that touches on our decision making process Your intelligent mind: act quickly or take a step back.

Sunshine Sarah

Ah, what a sunny blog Sunshine Sarah is! Always absolutely lovely to read updates from one of the most cheerful and kind people out there in the blogosphere. Sarah writes about a variety of topics, including mental health, netflix, veganism, eco-friendly swaps and more! She’s recently published a great post about overcoming post-pandemic social anxiety and I really enjoyed 8 netflix shows with strong female leads.

Lynn Mumbing Mejia

Omg, Ok, if this isn’t one of the cutest and happiest blogs out there I’ll eat my own hat. This blog is chock full of tips to create a cosy life. It has everything from home decor to recipes and I just love it so much. Having just moved house, I highly recommend reading 5 ideas to stay organised during a big move which is full of tips to keep things going smoothly during your move! I’m also absolutely drooling over some of Lynn’s recipes including this delicious looking vegetarian fall tortellini soup – giant yum!

Lisa’s Notebook

Every month Lisa shares a gardening diary that I absolutely lap up and her July diary showcased all the beautiful and colourful flowers that have bloomed in her garden. Having just moved away from our own garden and back into a place with very little outdoor space, I’m living vicariously through this blog atm. Glorious! As you all know, I’m a huge fan of homeware so I also really enjoyed reading Lisa’s post about styling your bed like the magazines!

And that’s it for this list of blogs to check out this summer, I hope that you all find something to read that tickles your fancy! Please do show these amazing people some support and check out their posts.

Thank you to everyone who has chosen to advertise with me this time and throughout 2021. I’m taking a break from offering these ad slots for the foreseeable, but will continue finding ways to highlight bloggers I love!

  1. I come to many posts like this eager to find new writers and often find one or two. Here I have discovered four voices I am unfamiliar with! I am excited to check out Izzy Matias, Miah’s MH Moments, and The Peculiar Adventurer, among others.
    Thanks so much for sharing!
